Giving Inspires Giving: Free Gloves for CH Children

A businessman’s initiative to give free coats to Crown Heights children inspired a fellow Lubavitcher to take similar action, donating 1,000 pairs of knit children’s gloves to be distributed free of charge.

As in the past years, local business owner Shaya Gordon decided to give free coats to neighborhood children. “I noticed that quite a few children have been walking to school without proper winter coats, so together with a few businessmen we sourced beautiful new coats to be distributed free of charge,” Gordon told CrownHeights.info in the past.

This act of kindness inspired another local Crown Heightser – who wishes to remain anonymous – to donate 1,000 pairs of knit children’s gloves to go along with the recently distributed coats.

“The gloves are on display at Mr. Clean on Albany Avenue and Union Street, and they are available in many different colors,” wrote the donor in an email. “Anyone can come in and take whatever they need for their families.”

“One good deed leads to another,” said Gordon.
