Shomrim Coordinate Safety with Precinct Commander

On Thursday night, the Commanding Officer of the 71st Precinct, Deputy Inspector George Fitzgibbon, invited the volunteers of the Crown Heights Shomrim for a meeting at the police station, to improve coordination with the NYPD over the neighborhood’s safety.

Inspector Fitzgibbon began the meeting by congratulating the Shomrim volunteers over their swift apprehension of two cell phone robbers on January 2nd.

He also took the opportunity to warn the Shomrim members about a recent rash of vehicle burglaries taking place in the neighborhood, and asked them to be on extra lookout for the culprit(s).

He then introduced them to the new Executive Officer of the Precinct, Captain Thomas Burke,  who serves as Mr. Fitzgibbon’s second in command.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the commanding and executive officers both thanked the Shomrim volunteers for their excellent work in helping to keep Crown Heights safe.

As soon as it became apparent that Stark was kidnapped, the family went straight to the police.

he police would have disregarded a healthy 39 years old gone missing for a few hours. “Come back in 24 hours, if he doesn’t show”, they would say.

BUT once the family together with Shomrim reviewed the video surveillance and realized that Stark was not just a missing person but one that was kidnapped, they went to the police.

By that time, Mr. Stark was long dead.

Just because some anonymous police detective said something, does not make it fact.
