At the meeting Reb Yingy Bistritzky explained to police what Hatzalah is, what they do, and how vital their work is for our community. He explained the identification cards and plaques that Hatzalah members carry. Also attending the meeting, was Mendy Gorodetzky and J.J. Katz.

I can’t believe this “At the meeting Reb Yingy Bistritzky explained to police what Hatzalah is and they do, and how vital their work is for our community” You mean to tell me that Vega and the 71st don’t know what Hatzalah is and what they do. What BS is this??? I suspect the cops in the 71st do not respect Vega. We need a commander who can do the job right.

is there any more information on what happened at the meeting? and what does it mean that they “explained to police what Hatzalah is and they do” i would think that by now the police should know what Hatzalah do!!!

  • miyagi

was vega FORCED to show up or did he just come for the SUSHI.

anybody know what the outcome was.

  • VgaIsToBlm

They needed to explain it to them???!!!! did these cops just FALL in to crown heights last week?!?!

Reb Bisritsky did not need to “explain” to the cops the vital work that Hatzalah does. The cops KNOW the vital work they do, it’s just that they don’t care. If they stopped harassing loyal and law abiding citizens of this community and actually went out and fought some real crime (let’s say, oh, I don’t know, perhaps stopping hate crimes and muggings that go on on a weekly basis) then perhaps this neighborhood would be safer.

    B“H
    Glad they had a meeting.
”At the meeting Reb Yingy Bistritzky explained to police what Hatzalah is and they do, and how vital their work is for our community…”
What, the Captain of the 71st doesn’t know about them?
    Weird!

Yashar Koiach to unit #39. Hatzoloh would not be the same without you..
PS. unit 39 was checking ch.info from his blackeberry as evidenced by the picture.

  • keep up the good work hatzalah

mostprobely is when he was explaining them what hatzalah dose he is saying that thay shuld act the same way as them like respond emiedeitly…etc.

you know to someone from out of our community it sounds like 71st is some out of town group and hatzala is fundrasing?!? (and not the local police!!)

  • lazer

it sounds like pd just fell of the moon for the very 1st time and don’t know what goes on in NY. Hatoloh has been around enough time that thay (pd) should know what Hatzolah is all about.
there was no reason fo Yingei to sit & explain what Hatzoloh does.
Hatzolah keep up the good work you do!

after watching Mr.Vega do his wonderfull presentation at the famous meeting ,I thing he would make an excellent school teacher but not a police commander. He is either naive or unrealistic or both.Which New Yorker does not know who Hatzolo is. Even our “friend ” Al sharpton nows about Hatzolo.(remember the 1991 riots)

  • CH EMT

This is not the first time that this is hapning there must be something going on between the cops and the community???

  • know better

sure dont you get it we are forcing them to do their jobs so they (the cops) are retaliating by doing this type of thing. giving tickets, pullinhg hatzala over etc. its so obvoius

  • yudi

Enough with the political correctness garbage. As a Hatzoloh member myself, I can say that this must stop. Any Police Officer that pulls over a member (or any EMT)legitimately proceeding to a call, and does not release them, may be CHARGED for obstructing emergency medical personnel from proceeding to a medical emergency. Of course we won’t hear anything, unless someone r’l is niftar because of it!!
P.S. The Bistritzky family is a big Hatzoloh family, with several family memebers part of different divisions. I remember Leibel closing his store on the ES to respond to calls in the early days of Hatzoloh
