Jewish Children Kindle Log Menorah in Tacoma, WA

Close to 200 people attended the eighth Annual Public Menorah Lighting and Chanukah Celebration in Tacoma, Washington.

Pierce County Sherriff, Paul Pastor helped the Shliach, Rabbi Zalman Heber light the Shammosh at the outdoor lighting in front of the Pantages Theater in Downtown Tacoma.

The lighting was followed by an indoor celebration where the crowd enjoyed a Chanukah performance from the Chabad Hebrew School children as well as a light show.

The highlight of the evening was when all the children had a chance to help construct and kindle the tallest Log Menorah in the Pacific Northwest.

Why not have a menorah with more of a yiddishe ta’am – like a menorah made from cholent…or matza balls? After the lighting of the menorah – everyone can get a “taste” of the menorah with a sample!
