The Albany Jewish community and friends of Rabbi Yisrael Rubin OB”M are invited to gather on Tuesday, November 3rd, for a communal Shloshim marking 30 days since his passing.

The gathering will take place at 7:30 p.m. at Shabbos House, located at 320 Fuller Road in Albany, bringing together community members, family, students and friends to remember the life and legacy of Rabbi Rubin, who served as the Rebbe’s shliach to Albany and New York’s state capital for more than five decades.

The evening’s program will include the completion of a study of Mishnayos in Rabbi Rubin’s memory, an opportunity to share memories of his life and work, and a session titled “The Living Take to Heart,” featuring lessons and inspiration drawn from his legacy.

Rabbi Rubin arrived in Albany during Sukkos 5734, beginning a lifelong commitment to strengthening Jewish life and bringing the Rebbe’s teachings to the state capital. Over the decades, he became a central figure in the local Jewish community, touching the lives of countless individuals through his dedication to Torah, mitzvos and Jewish education.

The Shloshim gathering will provide an opportunity for the community to come together in remembrance, reflect on Rabbi Rubin’s impact and draw inspiration from the values and teachings he worked to impart throughout his life.

Community members attending the event are asked to park in the nearby University at Albany Dutch Gold student lot, in the rows closest to Shabbos House.
