Thousands Gather Online for Global Mivtzah Chinuch Event
Wednesday night’s global Mivtzah Chinuch event, hosted by the Menachem Education Foundation with the Merkos Chinuch Office, gathered nearly 4,000 people from around the world to hear about how each person can fulfill their role in Mivtzah Chinuch.
Beyond educators, the event gathered participants from every background and featured 15 speakers, including Rabbanim, business professionals, Shluchim, and educators, each unpacking how Mivtzah Chinuch applies to their individual role.
Featured speakers included Rabbi Menachem Mendel Gluckowsky, Rabbi Shais Taub, Rabbi Zalman Leib Markowitz, Rabbi Zalman Shneur, Rabbi Mendel Blau, Rabbi Mendel Gordon, Rabbi Eliyah Kholodenko, Rabbi Yaakov Shallman, Rabbi Hertzel Pewzner, Rabbi Zalmy Kudan and Rabbi Shimmy Weinbaum. Each connected an excerpt from one of the Rebbe’s Sichos about Mivtzah Chinuch to how it can be applied in each person’s daily life, whether at home, school, office, camp or in their personal growth.
Rabbi Mendy Kotlarsky, General Chairman of the Merkos Chinuch Office, shared a special tribute to his father, Rabbi Moshe Kotlarsky, A”H, as the event was dedicated in honor of his second yahrzeit. Rabbi Zalmy Loewenthal, Associate Director of the Chinuch Office served as the MC.
To bring these ideas into action, a OneMitzvah campaign was launched for participants to take on Hachlatos in Mivtza Chinuch. The Hachlatos listed included suggestions for parents, teachers, businesspeople, grandparents, camp counselors, and more.
A program guide was created for participants to follow along with the Rebbe’s words, and many shared positive feedback on how the messages connected deeply with their unique positions.
“I would like to thank the organizers for presenting the Chinuch program tonight,” a participant shared. “It reflected the Rebbe’s authentic approach in a most interesting and relevant way, and was applicable to each person.”
Another viewer from South Africa shared that she stayed awake until three in the morning to be part of it. “It was well worth it,” she said.
A bonus women’s farbrengen led by Mrs. Vivi Deren, Shlucha to Stamford, CT, followed the event. Over 100 women logged on to explore their role as the driving force behind bringing the Rebbe’s vision for Chinuch to life.
The program was a collaborative effort between the Merkos Chinuch Office and the Menachem Education Foundation, who partnered to reach as many people as possible with the Rebbe’s message of Mivtzah Chinuch.
