Lag B’omer Rally and Fair to Highlight Fifty Years of the Twelve Pesukim
The NCFJE is once again hosting the annual Lag B’omer rally at the park for Crown Heights schools, followed by a full-day fair open to the community free of charge.
This year marks 50 years since the Rebbe launched the Twelve Pesukim, starting at the surprise Farbrengen of Rosh Chodesh Iyar 5736 when the Rebbe introduced the first six Pesukim, and continuing at a unique weekday Lag B’omer Parade where the Rebbe taught the remainder of the twelve verses.
Throughout the past few months, Mechanchim and Mechanchos have been teaching all about the Twelve Pesukim. The Lag B’omer rally will be an opportunity for the children to display what they have learned, with each school sharing a unique presentation highlighting one Passuk. “We are certain that the Rebbe will have much Nachas from this event, having each school displaying their Passuk,” says Rabbi Shimon Hecht. The program will also feature children’s entertainment, with an exciting live performance as well as Niggunim by Mendy Kraus and Baruch Shalom Blesofsky in honor of Lag B’omer.
To ensure the event’s success, planning began well before Purim, with the organizers meeting with school directors to coordinate and guarantee the rally will be in the spirit of Lag B’omer.
Following the morning rally, the festivities will continue with the annual NCFJE Lag B’omer Fair on Crown Street at the United Lubavitcher Yeshiva, in conjunction with our donors and corporate sponsors MASK (Mothers and Fathers Aligned Saving Kids) and IDCC (Interborough Developmental & Consultation Center). The afternoon fair is open to the entire community free of charge, and families are invited to join for a day of unity and celebration in honor of Rashbi.
Lag B’omer is a day of Achdus, and it is our prayer that the Achdus and celebrations of our community in honor of Rabbi Shimon Bar Yochai bring the revelation of Moshiach speedily, and we will once again march at the Lag B’omer parade with our Rebbe.
