NCFJE Announces Honoree For This Year’s Annual Awards Dinner
The National Committee for Furtherance of Jewish Education (NCFJE), a pioneering Chabad-Lubavitch organization founded in 1940 by the previous Lubavitcher Rebbe, Rabbi Yosef Yitzchak Schneersohn, to support Jewish education, outreach worldwide, social programs has announced that it will honor Harmeet Kaur Dhillon, Assistant U.S. Attorney General for Civil Rights at the Department of Justice, at its 85th Annual Awards Dinner.
The gala event will take place this Sunday, November 23, 2025, at the Edison Ballroom in New York City.
Dhillon, who was appointed by President Donald J. Trump and confirmed by the United States Senate on April 3, 2025, wasted no time making her mark. On her very first day in office—April 7, 2025—she issued bold new mission statements for all eleven sections of the Civil Rights Division, decisively refocusing the division’s work on critical priorities including the fight against antisemitism and the robust protection of religious liberty.
At the dinner, Harmeet Dhillon will receive the prestigious “Leadership and Justice in Civil Rights Award”. The award will be presented by Yehudah Kaploun, President Trump’s appointee as U.S. Special Envoy for Monitoring and Combating Antisemitism.
The NCFJE’s annual awards dinner celebrates individuals who have demonstrated extraordinary commitment to Jewish continuity, education, and the defense of civil and religious rights—values that Dhillon’s groundbreaking leadership at the Justice Department has powerfully advanced.
