CKids Shabbaton Kicks Off With Ohel Visit/Parents Program

The CKids Shabbaton kicked off this morning with a thrilling parents’ program. The annual Shabbaton is the culmination of CKids’ innovative JewQ program and brings together the young finalists and their families from around the world for a Shabbos of unity and inspiration.

The parents’ program, which ran parallel to the children’s fun track, was designed to provide parents with a meaningful and enjoyable experience. It began with a warm welcome featuring Rabbi Yisroel Deren, Regional Director of Chabad of Western and Southern New England, and Rabbi Zalman Loewenthal, Director of CKids International at Merkos 302, who shared words of inspiration.

Afterward, parents had the opportunity to visit the Ohel, for prayer and reflection, with Rabbi Shais Taub, a scholar in residence at the Shabbaton, leading a meaningful program.

The program continued with a unique gameshow program where parents had a chance to be a kid again and display all the Jewish knowledge they had picked up from studying with their children. Mrs. Vivi Deren, Regional Co-Director of Chabad of Western and Southern New England, also led a special moving session.

While the parents enjoyed their program, the children had a fun track of their own, filled with games, trips, and activities. The Shabbaton promises to be an uplifting experience with powerful presentations from world-renowned speakers Rabbi and Mrs. Deren, Rabbi Taub, and Rabbi Moshe Kotlarsky.

The weekend will culminate with the JewQ International Jewish Knowledge Championship, which is set to take place this Sunday, March 26, at 12:00 PM EST in Stamford, Connecticut.
