Torah Welcomed to North Miami Beach Yeshiva
On Sunday, 24 Adar II, Yeshiva Torah Ohr of North Miami Beach held a Hachnasas Sefer Torah. The Torah was one of six Torahs that Leonardo Farkas of Chile donated this year’s Kinus Hashluchim, in which a new Torah was sent to six continents.
The program began with a children’s rally led by Rabbi Chaim Body of Bais Menachem-North Miami Beach. Soon after, a full procession escorted the new Torah into the yeshiva to dance the eight customary hakofos.
A Seudas Mitzvah followed the hakofos, where recent graduate of the University of Central Florida and a recent enrollee at Yeshiva Torah Ohr, Benyomin Zand, addressed the crowd, as well as the other members of the hanhala.
To culminate the event, head shliach to the state of Florida for 57 years, Rabbi Avrohom Korf, farbrenged for the joyous crowd and expressed how impressed he is each time he visits the yeshiva and sees the tremendous growth of the bochorim.
