Professional Home Organizer Offers Tips at LY Library
This past week, the weekly women’s discussion group at the Levi Yitzchak Library hosted Crown Heights professional organizer and owner of Home Refined Shayna Cohen.
Rivky Katz led the discussion, welcoming single girls, wives and mothers with a brief introduction of the connection between Tu B’Shvat and decluttering and organizing our homes and our lives. Shayna began her discussion by showing pictures of how the hidden potential of an area can be revealed through her before and after photos.
“In order to get something done, we must first begin. Sometimes we need to begin multiple times but that is all part of the process of living in a clear, refined and happy home,” Shayna shared about the significance of organizing and creating space for blessings.
Cohen shared several ideas and some of her favorite organizational products to help refine one’s space:
- Drawer divider box set for under $10 to sort a variety of clothes with a place for everything. These provide an organized way to help teach kids to put their clothes away. IKEA’s Skubb box set: http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/50300275/#/50300275
- Over the cabinet door hanging basket to put under the sink. This provides a place for sponges, dish soap, gloves, and other small objects, clearing space near your sink and keeping the area dry. This clears the space, providing you with a clear mind. I like to use InterDesign Axis Over the Cabinet Storage Organizer Basket, can be bought online: http://www.amazon.com/InterDesign-Cabinet-Storage-Organizer-Kitchen/dp/B00124VR7I/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1454522019&sr=8-5&keywords=InterDesign+Axis+Over+the+Cabinet+Storage+Organizer+Basket%2C
- Velvet Anti-slip hangers are the best! They are thin, so they maximize space in your closet and prevent clothes from slipping or creasing. These come in a variety of colors and even have small sizes for kids’ clothes. They can be bought in Marshalls or Burlington, or locally at Weinstein’s or CH Housewares, or online on Amazon. Here is how they look: http://www.amazon.com/Closet-Complete-Ultra-Velvet-Hangers/dp/B0037KMSRI/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1454522355&sr=8-1&keywords=B0037KMSRI%7CB0037KMSUU%7CB0037KMSV4%7CB0037KMSVE%7CB0052WIW1A%7CB00A2C0LQE%7CB00QPTH70G%7CB00QPTHF2G%7CB00QPTHJ3Q%7CB00QPTHMEW%7CB00QPTHML0%7CB00QPTHMYW%7CB00QPTHN2I%7CB00U28KL0Y%7CB016OG090Y%7CB016YRBUKG
