Terror Attack Thwarted in Midst of Farbrengen

Last night, two teenaged Palestinian terrorists launched an attack on a Jewish multi-family home in Chevron. The attack occurred while a ‘Farbrengen’ was going on upstairs. Miraculously, the attacked was thwarted by fast-acting IDF soldiers stationed outside, one of whom sustained a light injury.

The incident occurred in the ‘Red House,’ located midway between the settlement of Kiryat Arba and the Me’aras Hamachpelah. The building is home to three Jewish families, and a contingency of IDF soldiers.

One of the Shluchim in Chevron, who requested to remain anonymous, arrived in the building last night to cheer up the soldiers and bring them refreshments. The gesture soon turned into a full-fledged ‘Chassidishe Farbrengen.’

In an interview with Shturem.net, the Shliach related: “I was on the ground floor, when suddenly I heard the sound of automatic gunfire. The sound was so loud, it was clear that it was coming from right outside the wall.”

“The soldiers immediately rushed outside, where it became clear that two Palestinian terrorists had tried to stab two IDF soldiers stationed outside and steal their weapons.”

“The terrorists’ intentions were clear. They were going to steal the weapons and enter the house, where three Jewish families lived on the upper stories.”

The quick action of the soldiers no-doubt saved countless lives. The two terrorists, aged 15 and 17, were shot and killed.

There is no solution to the Arab problem. Just as there has been no solution to the innumerable problems we’ve faced since the churbon. There was a window for solutions when we were being advised by the Rebbe in a revealed way. Things were pretty good actually but fools threw everything away. The Rebbe predicted the dire consequences. We are beyond a solution.

We now fail to realize the anomaly that is the past half century or so, where yidden had ‘self-determination’ and easy access to robust parnaso. We’ve taken that as granted, as the natural state of golus existence, which is why everyone is screaming about solutions now (Education! Ban the Flippers!…)

We are living in the times of imminent redemption, the times described in harrowing terms in gemorah Sandhedrin.

We’ve on nothing and no one to rely.

Let’s do Teshuva and dedicate ourselves to Torah.

Let’s do away with our BBQ’s and Softball leagues, our cigars and season tickets. Lets attend more shiurim, be makpid on minyonim and support the moisdois.

That’s the Rambam’s approach to confronting tragedy, the Jewish approach, the solution approach is ‘cruelty.’

    The only salvation is redemption.

It’s so sad that we have to spend precious money on bullets fired to ward off these pests. Our money is much more precious than to throw at dogs and pigs.

    • Living there

Israel is not a war zone. We go about our daily business and we farbreng & visit our holy sights because we can – we are blessed to live in Eretz Yisrael. Do you think we should just hide? Those days are over. We will not let these animals defeat us,they will not stop us from living our lives and doing everything a free person does.

It is thanks to people like them that we are able to go to Mearas Hamachpela Today, and Rebbbetzin Menucha Rochel and more. There needs to be yidden in these areas, its our land. Such daily mesiras Nefesh to live there, hashem yishmor.
