Protesters Demand Israel Protect Its Citizens

On Wednesday afternoon, a group of protesters (mostly from Crown Heights) assembled in front of the Israeli Consulate to protest the recent wave of violence and terrorism in Israel.

The group began their rally by reciting Tehillim together and by giving coins to charity. Then some speakers, including Assemblyman Dov Hikind, recounted some of the horrific random acts of terrorism that occurred in Israel this past week.

The group said they came to let their brethren in Israel know that American Jews support them and their current plight, and to beg Israeli politicians to do more to protect Israel’s civilians from terrorist attacks.

I am proud of my fellow crown heightsers for going to this rally.
I don’t think we can change the policies of our terrible politicians, but since this rally began with the recital of tehilim and the mitzvah of tzedaka, may it inspire hashem to do more to protect us.

yes he does. this has been a terrible week. We are allowed to complain to god. during tough times we increase in mitzvos to influence god to help us.

  • WHAT!?

Very nice message and effort in organizing this event but what’s with the Israeli flags? The Rebbe was strong to point out that chabad is NOT Zionist. Hence no Israeli flag at any event that the Rebbe was at

  • Answer about the flag...

I don’t think it was the organizers that brought the flag- it probably was other protesters that came from
    other communities…
There were many people that heard about the event from online and joined it. There were all types of
    Jews there together.
