Drizin Backs Down, Hendel Remains Obstinate

While Sholom Ber Drizin has backed down from his demand that 770 Bochurim sign a letter of support for Eshel-Hachnosas Orchim in order to receive a coat from the Yeshiva’s Kupas Bochurim, Mendel Hendel obstinately refuses to allow the non-discriminatory distribution to begin.

As reported previously, Sholom Ber Drizin originally demanded that all 770 Bochurim who wish to receive a coat from the Yeshiva’s Kupas Bochurim sign a letter of support for Mendel Hendel’s institutions and a condemnation of the Va’ad Talmidei Hatmimim.

Following continued exhortations from the Hanhala of the Yeshiva in 770, Mr. Drizin has now agreed to retract that requirement. However, the Tzfati heads of the Yeshiva’s Kupas Bochurim who oversee the distribution have notified the Bochurim that only those students who Mr. Hendel personally approves will be eligible to receive a winter coat. The details of Mr. Hendel’s personal discriminatory criteria remain unclear.

I know SBD very well and he might talk but his heart is gold and will try to be fair.

He was away on vacation when this whole thing happened and he has NO cell number so he had no idea of what MH was planning

  • throw hendel out

its time we throw him out of our community the machlokos he put upon CH is huge, and the innocent yesomim are suffering because of him.

he will do anything to make a fight.

he is the modern time haman

  • ROFL

Good. Let the Tzfatim see their guru is just a thug in a black hat. serves them all right. Bet a lot of the rats will jump from this sinking ship of fools.

Mixing my metaphors, but you get my drift! ;)

  • Sholom Ber Drizin should just ask the

Bochrim to sign a note that they will not get involved in Machlokes

  • The enemy is machlokes. Period.

I agree with #5. The bochurim need to learn Torah, not to be puppets that aid and encourage machlokes.

  • perspective

#6, that shows how young and naive you are. I don’t agree with his ways, but we are all jews in the same boat. Really, get perspective on things. That is a way over the top comment. Did you ever study the holocaust?

  • *hakaras hatov*

THANKS *sarcasm* for reminding us/ informing us that not everyone in Crown Heights is a tzaddik. We need this for our avoda. *sarcasm*

this sounds like a boxing match. Only Yuri could do better. Are these people serious? Leave SBD to do it how he wants. How do you force someone to give money. Does Hendel give money to those who he does not hold by? someone is playing mind games here. We need more mental health professionals in this neighborhood, because everyone seems to be living up what THEY think is right. Very odd

  • innocent

oh great, now we can be despondent over the infighting. Just what we need now.
Does anyone take responsibility for what they’re doing? Do they get some excitement from the fighting? What does it make them feel like, that they need to do this…….

  • disappointed

in the long run # 3 is right Hendel needs to be forced to relocate in the short term he & his honschos need to be strong asrmed into backing down by almost any means necessary! Any bachur who does not receive what he needs should go direct to the Hanhalah etc. The Hanhalah can & must stand up to these thugs!!!!!!!!!!

maybe i’m thinking phsychology but it seems to me that men who play this game to force someone to give their money (or whatever) are men who need to prove themselves. Did their fathers never give them credit and they need to prove themselfs or what. Why would people actually do this shtuss. If Drizin doesnt want to give, then go find the help from people who are interested to support him. Let Drizin spend his money where he believes it will be used the best. What business does this hendel have to try to power him out of it. It seems that he does not know derech eretz, and its becoming more clear who he is and who his “followers” are. Very embarassing to think that this is what the shechuna has now.

  • The Hatfields and the McCoys

This is the chassidishe version of the “Hatfields and the McCoys” l’havdil. Someone, maybe not too far back or maybe back in Nevel insulted someone else or sold them a lame horse and they are still fighting over the insult and trying to prove who has more money, toys, or influence.
It’s time to GROW UP and stop this stupidity!!! They are all a bunch of puppets for someone else’s agenda.
Even the winners are losers for engaging in this fighting and we all suffer from it.

  • To 2 - Not about his money

Not true, Although he can give out money on the street to whomever he wants the Yeshiva cannot ethically allow such discrimination to happen under their auspices. So long as there’s one notice about this program on Yeshivah letterhead and/or it’s happening on Yeshivah premisses, then it’s not about His money anymore but about how the yeshivah treats or mistreats it’s talmidim.

  • WHAT???

Drizin Hendel HAMAS, HIZBULLA, IRAN, AHMADINEJAD, BIN LADEN, are
    all one of the same.
no reason to talk about them they will send katyusha rockets at Jews and the Rebbe any time they feel like it.

  • My goodness!

#14, I can’t find a basis for this in my study of chassidism! Are they really Chabads or just wanna be’s?

Besides, Moses always said Jews were stiff-necked. Glad to see you haven’t changed. I don’t think Gd has changed either! So, you may want to be careful. Generally, stiff-neck meant Gd was going to deal with you!

Besides, doesn’t Gd provide for your needs. When I need a coat, I shuffle on over to the thrift store in my community. Brand new, never worn wool coats for $20 or less!

If this is such a big deal, take a yearly collection from all the synagogues and buy them the coats! Let the schools provide them.

Do you folks argue over underwear too!

I’m glad Gd is not this petty when we need something!

  • reaching for the stars

all of you can go burn with your ahavas yiscroel you are making the rebbe proud! actually not and what kind of example and dugma chaya are you making you are ruining lubavitch

  • shlomo as always with bad English

IT.OK if someone dive money, sure he allowed to make his own rules.
    otherwise is communism.
