Nadiv’s Headstone Encapsulates His Life of Giving

Family and friends of Nadiv Kehaty, OBM, gathered this morning in Montefiore Cemetery in Queens for the Hakamas HaMatzeiva (erecting of the headstone) for the beloved father of four, who died tragically and suddenly last week.

The headstone reads:

Here is buried HaRav Nadiv Dovber z”l ben R’ Uzi Shlit”a, a Chosid of the Lubavitcher Rebbe, a man with a generous personality who would give over his entire self for the sake of his fellow.

He loved and was loved by all, and greeted each and every one with cheerfulness. He was the crown and pride of his family.

His life was cut short at the young age of 30 on the eve of Monday, Chai Adar, 5775, during the Parsha [of Vayakhel-Pikudei,] in which every generous heart (“Nadiv Lev”) donated to Hashem (for the Mishkan).

May his soul be bound in the bond of life.

Your translation makes it sound like he passed away in parshas terumah. It should read “he passed away on the parsha of ‘donation to Hashem by everyone that is generous-hearted'”

the essence of what a mentsch is. May we all learn to be this way. It may take time for some of us to get there, but this is a goal to go for, for all of us. In his name, we do this and it gives zechus to him a”h and zechus to Am Yisrael. AD MASSAI, MOSHIACH NOW NOW NOW
remember we can always do random acts of kindness, they are all around. If Nadiv knew how to find them, so can we
