Hundreds of Thousands of Seforim Sold at Chassidus Fair

What began as a large Yud Tes Kislev gathering in Jerusalem’s Binyanei Ha’umah – The International Convention Center – gradually grew into a multi faceted event that includes a massive sale of Seforim on Chassidus from all Talmidei HaBaal Shem Tov, with a particular highlight on Chabad Chassidus.

The annual event is the fruit of the labor of Rabbi Moshe Shilat, who founded an organization that spreads Toras Hachassidus to Bnei Yeshivos. He is also a board member of the Meromim Charitable Foundation of Yitzchak Miralashvili, a philanthropist of Georgian origin who supports many Chabad institutions and causes.

At the fair, hundreds of thousands of Seforim on Chassidus are sold at steep discounts, some for as low as 4 for 100 NIS (about $5 per book).

The event grew so much that it now spans a few days, and features Fabrengens and lectures on Chassidus, including by noted Mashpia and the Rebbe’s Chozer Reb Yoel Kahn. It also features an exhibit of ancient seforim dating back to the Baal Shem Tov, The Mezritcher Maggid and the Alter Rebbe.

The organizers describe it as the “biggest event of Hafotzas Hamaayonos” in the world.
