Charges Dropped Against Accused Child Abuser

Multiple charges against a former Chabad-Lubavitch youth leader in Melbourne were dropped. Aron “Ezzy” Kestecher, 27, was charged last year with four counts of indecent acts on a child under 16. All four charges were withdrawn Tuesday, a spokeswoman for the Department of Justice confirmed.

Kestecher revealed the news on Facebook, writing “All charges gone.” In a later post, he wrote, “I never lost hope in God. It was Judaism that was the issue.”

Kestecher declined to comment on the case to JTA.

The news comes two weeks after David Cyprys, a former security guard at Yeshivah College in Melbourne, was ordered to stand trial next July on 41 counts of child abuse. He has pleaded not guilty to the charges allegedly perpetrated on 12 victims who were students at Yeshivah College in the 1980s. Three of the victims now live in America.

The college, which shares a campus with the Chabad headquarters in Melbourne, has reassured parents it has the strictest protocols in place to safeguard their students.

That is why we should not rush to judgment and we should let the courts decide.

but i also want too point out just because charges may have been dropped it does not mean nothing happened sometimes it can be technical

so we need to be careful on both ends who we trust and who we accuse

The least you could do chinfo is post this. But I hope this was a lesson for you before you zealously post something without looking into it. A boys reputation got hurt as a result. I hope that you ask Mechilah from him and knowing Aron he probably has the heart to forgive. Not too many people will.

    What does this mean:
“I never lost hope in God. It was Judaism that was the issue.”

  • to #11

I am sorry to say, but I have more than a sneaking suspicion that some of those who are making false accusations are doing so to cover up the fact that they were molested by members of their own family.

Monsters like Cypress, Kramer, and others of that ilk need to be off the streets – but any abuse investigation should start at home.
