Shliach Helps Chesed Shel Emes Prevent Autopsy

Recently on the I-95 – one of the major highways in America – there was a traffic accident in Palm Beach County that resulted in the death of an Israeli Motorcyclist on Erev Shabbos.

While most people were busy preparing for Shabbos, a the Chesed Shel Emes Coordinator Rabbi Mark Rosenberg, together with Dovie Katz, immediately left North Miami to Palm beach County to clean up and make sure there would be Kovod hameis.

When they arrived at the scene, the Police informed them that there would be an autopsy performed before the body would be released.

Rabbi Rosenberg called Rabbi Yehuda Kaploun, a chaplain for Chesed Shel Emes and President of the Orthodox Alliance of Florida. Rabbi Kaploun contacted his friend Rabbi Shneur Oirechman, the Chabad Shliach in Tallahassee, and after speaking to Governor Rick Scott and being placed in touch with the Florida Highway patrol Chief who was responsible for the highway, they were able to have the body released to the Family without an autopsy.

While all of this was occurring, noted Lubavitcher attorney Menachem Mayberg had a legal brief prepared to object to the autopsy, and was able to have a lawyer on standby in Palm Beach County ready to file it.

With Hashem’s help the body was released and was buried in Israel.
