Class Celebrates Birthday of Beloved Maggid Shiur
It has been a tradition for many years for the students of beloved maggid shiur in Oholei Torah Zal, Reb Avrohom Gerlitzky, to celebrate his birthday with much pomp and fanfare. This year was no exception.
Crown Heights residents woke up this morning to find fliers on cars, poles and elsewhere wishing Reb Avrohom a Happy Birthday. A huge banner was draped across the facade of Oholei Torah with a similar message.
In the afternoon, Reb Avrohom walked into the decorated classroom to the sound of a loud happy birthday sung by his talmidim. They then sat down to a Farbrengen with their teacher, in lieu of his daily Gemara Shiur.
