First Merit Based Scholarship Offered in Chabad
In order to reward the pursuit of excellence and achievement in learning, Bais Chana Academy High School for Girls is seeking one 9th and one 10th grade student who has shown high scholastic achievement and is motivated and enthusiastic to excel in all disciplines of academic rigor, to each receive a full tuition scholarship, for the 2013-14 academic year.
If your daughter works hard in school, is excited at the prospect of acquiring knowledge and is self-motivated to excel in both limudei kodesh and limudei chol, this is the opportunity you are looking for! We will be in Crown Heights Sunday, June 16 and will be available to meet with prospective students. Students will be given a general knowledge exam to determine the awardees for this merit based scholarship.
Bais Chana Academy, located in Orange, Connecticut, is one of the first Mosdos of Chabad to have been given permission from the Rebbe in 5725-1964 to name a mosad after Rebbetzin Chana. Over the ensuing decades, Bais Chana has been home to hundreds of talmidos, many of whom are leaders and shluchos in their respective communities.
After a year of reorganizing, Bais Chana reopened its doors this past school year, with a fresh, new start. Our 9th grade students surpassed all expectations in learning and hanhaga. This has been a stellar year, one which nurtured our students academically, emotionally and spiritually. As student, Shoshana H. said, “I found everything I was looking for at Bais Chana this year. The challenging classes, close-knit friends and caring teachers made it a great year all around!”
BCA is committed to excellence in education and the developments of self-assured young women who exemplify middos tovos and strength of character. BCA instills yiras shamayim, a love of Torah and Mitzvos and a practical understanding and appreciation for what limud hachasidus and darchei hachasidus add to everyday life.
Our teachers are chosen from a select group of shluchim and shluchos who understand the challenges that today’s generation of young women face. Farbrengens and mivtzoim mark the chassidishe yomim tovim in a meaningful way, chessed projects give the girls a chance to interact with the community and extra-curricular activities add an exciting dimension to the well rounded day of learning. Public speaking/debate class, art and sports are some of the electives of which our students partake.
If you are looking for a school where your daughter will thrive in the hands of experienced and caring teachers, will develop pride as a Bas Chabad, will gain confidence as she expresses her unique talents, and will benefit from individualized attention and a small student body, then Bais Chana Academy High School for Girls is for you.
Interviews will be held Sunday, June 16 from 12:00-3:00pm in the conference room of the Shluchim office, 816 Eastern Parkway. For out-of-town prospective students, a skype interview will be arranged. To set up an appointment for an interview, please contact principal, Mrs. Bluma Hecht, at 203-795-5261, blumahecht@schacademy.org today and discover the difference in education!

What do you mean “first”? Do such scholarships not exist in any mosdos already?! Has no mosad ever offered such a scholarship before?!
