Preparing for Shavuos, Bnos Chomesh Goes Green

In anticipation of Shavuos, Bnos Chomesh Girls’ High School is “going green”! Staff and students are “digging in” to a project that will enhance everyone’s home for Yom Tov.

Beautiful potted plants are available for purchase by the community. The plants were purchased and re-potted in beautiful ceramic planters, artistically hand-painted by the staff and students of Bnos Chomesh.

“This is an art project, horticulture lesson, and mitzvah all wrapped into one,” says teacher and project co-ordinator Mrs. Avigail Gribov. “We are all having a lot of fun with it!”

Also spearheading this project is Mrs. Esther Dick. She has created an incentive program to encourage the students to sell the festive plants to family and friends.

“It’s a win-win project. The school will benefit from the funds that are brought in, and Crown Heights residents will have beautiful greenery decorating their homes.”
