About 50,000 people are expected to make their way to Old Montefiore Cemetery in Queens tonight to pay tribute to the memory of a beloved Jewish spiritual leader.

The faithful will visit the gravesite of Rabbi Menachem Schneerson in Cambria Heights to mark the 17th anniversary of his death.

The 24-hour observance will begin at sundown.

This year’s visit also marks 70 years since Schneerson and his wife came to America.

Schneerson is credited with reinvigorating Jews after the devastation of the Holocaust, and left behind a legacy that includes an international network of more than 3,300 social and educational institutions in more than 75 countries.
