Chabad Winter Camp in Brighton Beach

BRIGHTON BEACH — From December 24 thru December 31 over 50 Jewish children from Brighton Beach and the surrounding areas enjoyed their winter vacation with Chabad of W. Brighton Beach learning about Yiddishkeit Davening and having a ball of fun.

The camp was so much fun that on Monday during the blizzard we had children pulling their mothers out of their house and into the snow to take them to camp. The program included a magic show with animals as well as trips to bowling ice-skating and snow tubing! At the end of the week the children went home with a beautiful Havdalah candle and Besamim that they made themselves in camp.

The parents were raving about the camp and the amazing staff that at the end of each day we had new registrants for the rest of the week. “The Rebbe screamed about the one million Jewish children in New York that don’t know “Tzuras Ois Aleph”, there is so much more to be done”, says Rabbi Shimmy Silver the youth director.
