In honor of Rosh Chodesh Kislev, a few Bochurim took upon themselves, with the kind help and sponsorship of Syncope Records, to release a song portraying the significance of this day.

Song composed by Hatomim Mendel Jacobs
Adult Vocal: Ari Raskin
Child Vocals: Yehuda Gorkin of Miami Boys fame
Music: Sholom Lieberman
Guitar: Moshe Horenstein
Executive Producer: Zalman Schreiber

TTTO: Rachamono D’yonei

The year has reached its highest height,
The hall congests its late at night,
A stimulating joy in 770.

The world around them disappears,
Chassidim soar to other spheres,
The Rebbe leads Hakofos with vitality.

But as the night proceeds the Rebbe sits to rest
Shocking one and all,
“The Rebbe’s Nisht Gezunt,” the rising spirits fall.

Confusion and distress
To bear the frightful notion all hearts wish to deny
Indeed it’s Simchas Torah, yet who can help but cry.

That night The Rebbe made it clear,
Tonight again as every year,
The dancing and the singing will continue.

Hearing what the Rebbe said,
We cast aside all fear and dread,
A hopeful chant “Der Rebbe Iz Gezunt!”

A mere few weeks pass by
Joy and jubilation beyond all expectation
Der Rebbe Fort Aheim Shoin, a Yom Tov in creation.

No different now as then
The moment seems long lasting
But let us not despair,
Keep the march on forward a Yom Tov’s very near.

the traditional one, made by feitel levin, beats this one anytime. this is a beautiful ‘song’ but depressing (the opposite of chabad) in contrast to the uplifting positive magnetic traditional rosh chodesh kislev niggun.

  • amazing!

    @ oy:

i actually think that it was a very moving and inspiring arrangement, but as is customary on this site feel free to be unneccessarily critical in the spirit of ‘chabad’
