CGI Florida Hosts MBP Awards Ceremony

As every year, the campers of Gan Israel-Florida overnight camp worked on preparing a special and most befitting present for the Rebbe with their annual Mishnayos Be’Al Peh program; together, the campers learned and were tested on close to 30,000 lines of Mishnayos, Tanya, Siddur and Yediyos Kloliyos. This figure includes: 48 complete perakim, 651 Mishnas and 1,868 lines of Tanya.

Campers were also tested on many Yediyos Kloliyos from a special MBP Handbook (courtesy of Rabbi Sholom Heidingsfeld of Cheder Menachem – Los Angeles, CA). Every camper was successfully test on a respectful amount of Torah, regardless of his background or previous knowledge of Torah Be’Al Peh.

Parents were continually updated of their child’s progress throughout the summer months via the camp’s MBP website and weekly personalized emails (the database and website are courtesy of Rabbi Dovid Zirkind of www.baalpeh.com).

Prior to the onset of the program, campers were divided into separate divisions, in accordance with their age and ability to commit information to memory, making the program accessible to all, each according to their level.

As always, a beautiful Seforim catalogue was produced at the onset of the summer. Campers were able to browse through the catalogue and the prices for each sefer. This motivated many campers to make a ‘learning-goal’ throughout their stay in camp. On the final Sunday before the end of camp, campers placed their orders. How exciting was it to see campers, who had made a goal to order a sefer of their choice – surpass them!

A big Yasher koach to Anshei Lubavitch of Miami Florida, under the guidance of Rabbi Yitzchok Meir Teitelbaum and Rabbi Dovid Schapiro for sponsoring the beautiful catalogue and all of the seforim purchased for this year’s program.

On Friday, Chof Beis Menachem Av, campers and staff gather in “The Camp Shteelbe” for its 6th annual Mishnayos Be’Al Peh Award Ceremony. Campers were awarded their Seforim as the entire camp staff and administration – which included the camp’s Executive Director, Rabbi Yosef Biston and Director, Rabbi Yossi Goldblatt – joined in to pay tribute to the children’s efforts.

The program began with Learning Director, Rabbi Nisson Friedman, welcoming the campers, commending them for their accomplishments and efforts. The Coordinator of the program, Leibelovitch, was then called up to announced the accomplishments of this year’s MBP.

A video of the Rebbe was played, showing the campers the value these gifts were held in the eyes of the Rebbe.

This was then followed by honoring the top three campers with the highest accomplishments to receive their prizes; Menachem Mendel Rubenstein of Bunk Ches, Eli Rosenfeld of Bunk Hey and Dov Fradkin of Bunk Zayin.

Each camper was then called up to receive his seforim, in accordance to his achievements. A simultaneous Multimedia presentation was played as each camper was called up; displaying the campers’ picture, points, learning achievements and the seforim they were receiving.

The campers, staff and administration of Camp Gan Israel Florida wish all campers continued success in their limudim. It is their hope that the campers’ accomplishments and achievements continue into the school year and give much nachas to the Rebbe and, as explained in the Rebbe’s Sichos, will bring the Hisgalus of Moshiach Now.
