RUNNING SPRING, CA [CHI] — History was made this week as over 500 campers from Gan Israel day camps across California camped out at Gan Israel Running Springs for an unbelievable two-day extravaganza! The camps included CGI of the Valley, CGI of Los Angeles & Beverly Hills, Silver GI of Huntington Beach, CGI of Bentwood, Silver GI of Mission Viejo, CGI of Lomita, Gan Izzy Extreme of Agoura, and of course CGI of Running Springs. The highlight of the extravaganza was the commencement of a new Sefer Torah, sponsored by AskMoses, and an incredible concert by the 8th Day band! Rabbi Reuven Wolf, camp Rabbi at CGI Running Springs, explained the significance of the writing and inspired the crowd to utilize this momentous occasion to bring Moshiach.

“It was so cool to see a Torah being written, and I even got to buy my own letter in the Torah!” said a camper of CGI of the Valley.

The visiting camps got to sample the special activities that the Running Springs campers get to experience every day, such as archery, art, swimming, acting, dance and sports.

The campers got together in the afternoon for a grand lineup, lead by Brocha Katz, head counselor of CGI Running Springs, where each camp got to sing their theme song, and lead the group in pesukim.

“Even though the campers come from all different backgrounds, some attend yeshivas, some day schools and a lot go to public schools, it was very special how they all joined in for the pesukim and Jewish songs.” said CGI Running Springs director, Gershon Sandler.

“There was an incredible display of unity,” said Fruma Wilschanski, assistant director of CGI Running Springs. “To see all of the girls singing and dancing together made it all worth it, we definitely brought Moshiach closer!”
