Fantastic 1st week in CGI Running Springs!

The campers and staff of CGI Running Springs have just concluded an amazing, action-packed 1st week of Camp! Campers arrived on Tuesday to meet their Counselors and head-staff: Fruma Wilshansky, Assistant Director and Brocha Katz, Head Counselor. Then, getting to know their counselors, they were treated to a staff talent show, featuring Counselors who dance, sing and play guitar behind their backs! They also met the specialty staff who are in camp once again, Mrs. Lolly Seidnfeld – Dance , Mrs. Deena Brandis – Drama and Mrs. Mushka Lightstone – Art and Photography.

In the meantime, trips to Ice-skating, boating and an unforgettable overnight made the week even more exciting!

Later in the week Campers were introduced to the world renowned singer and composer, Mr. Sam Glaser, who began work on a new project “The CGI Running Springs Girls Choir!” A recording studio was set up right in camp, and girls sang and recorded some of their favorite Camp songs like, To love a fellow Jew, It was after the meal Friday night, Crown of Creation, Don’t walk in front of me, and some original CGI Running Springs compositions. Sam also performed in concert for our Campers, rocking the mountain-top!

To top it off, CGI Running Springs welcomes 10 new Campers from Sderot, Israel who will be with us for the rest of the summer – enjoying an awesome time in camp and making new friends. A spirit of Achdus is already present as Campers learn the meaning of Kol Yisroel Aravim Ze’ Bezeh – mamash!

It’s only been a week and CGI Running Springs is still gearing up for even more exciting activities and programs in the weeks to come. Campers and staff are truly enjoying a summer that will go down in the books! Stay tuned…
