Bochur Seriously Injured after being Hit by a Car

CROWN HEIGHTS [CHI] — A Bochur was hit by a speeding minivan in front of Chovevei Torah, he was thrown over thirty feet and sustained serious injuries. U/D 4:50pm: Yeshiva administration notified us that B”H the Bochur is stable and doing ok.

The incident occurred as Bochurim were leaving the Yeshiva at 885 Eastern Parkway, between Troy and Albany Avenues, for their lunch break. The Bochurim attempted to cross the narrow service road when a minivan struck him, throwing him over thirty feet away.

Multiple eyewitnesses stated that the minivan was traveling at a high rate of speed, and damage to the vehicles fender and windshield seems to support the eyewitness accounts.

Hatzalah was called and arrived and immediately followed by FDNY and the police, the victim was placed on a stretcher then rushed off to Kings County Hospital. The victim was initially reported as being unconscious, but when transported he appeared to have regained consciousness.

A Bochur was the first to arrive at the victim’s side, followed by the driver – who remained on the scene and called 911 – but they were unable to tell Hatzalah how long the victim had lost consciousness.

Once again, the name of the Bochur is Yitzchok Halevi ben Chana, and the public is asked to take a moment to say a Kapitel Tehillim for his Refuah Shlaima. Kapitel Chof is included below.

  • Buchrim be carful!!!!

May this buchur have a complete refuh shleima!!!!

    Now aATTENTION!!!!!

When you are sent off, morning, lunch, evening,,, only cross at the light!!! Do not go between cars,,, this would have been avoided had he crossed at the light on red,,, for your safety,,, save your life!!!!!

Another major safety issue is that they play football on the street,,, the buchrim are not quick to get off the street when a car is coming,,, I fully comprehend the need to play but something needs to be done about this!!!

    Update:
the Boy is doing very well and in good spirits.
the lack of any tire marks seem to support the police estimate that the vehicle was not speeding
