An eight-year-old boy escaped a frightening accident with just some scrapes and bruises, after he was hit by a van which was making a left turn. The boy was able to crawl out from underneath the vehicle on his own.
The incident occurred in the intersection of Montgomery Street and Albany Avenue at around 6:00pm. The boy was crossing the street on a Razor scooter while a white commercial van was making a left turn. The boy was struck by the van, and a passerby shouted for the van to stop.
Miraculously, the boy fell underneath the van but was not seriously hurt and was able to crawl out from underneath the vehicle.
Hatzalah was called – and arrived at the scene within moments – followed by FDNY and the police. The boy suffered from an abrasion on his head, along with some scrapes and other bruises, but B”H was not seriously harmed.
