Motorcyclist Seriously Hurt After Crashing Into SUV

A common sight for New Yorkers are the throngs of motorcyclists – both legal and illegal – that begin riding in packs on the streets of the city once the weather warms up. Sunday was no different, only one of them crashed and was critically hurt.

The crash occurred at around 5:00pm near the intersection of Utica Avenue and Crown Street. The cyclists was traveling down Utica and according to eyewitnesses was weaving in between cars when he rear ended a red Nissan SUV.

The force of the impact sent the rider into the rear window, and partially into the car, then coming to rest on the ground.

Police officers were seen making multiple calls for an ambulance, EMS rushed the rider to Kings County Hospital where he was listed in critical condition

Officers from the Highway Patrols Accident Investigation Squad were looking into the cause of the accident.

A version of this story originally appeared noting that the motorcyclist had died from his injuries was incorrect. The rider is in Kings County Hospital and listed in stable condition.

Now we have to contend with cyclists thanks to his crazy idea of putting more bikes on NY streets. They are dangerous – today I saw a woman with her little kid on the back of her bike (no helmets) weaving in & out of Manhattan traffic. She was nearly hit by a coach bus.

Motor bikes are scary but we all know they are powerful machines. I think bikes are worse – you can’t hear them, they sneak up the inside & get so close to the car the driver & passengers can touch them. Just today an 88 year old on a bike (what was he thinking???) was killed in Bay Ridge. Get rid of bike lanes (cyclists don’t use them anyway) & restrict them to certain streets.
