Speeding, Inclement Weather Leads to Massive Accident
A number of people were hurt after a speeding car collided with a commercial van on Albany Avenue, miraculously none of the injuries were serious. At the scene police arrested one of the drivers.
The accident occurred at around 9:30pm in the intersection of Albany Avenue and Lincoln Place. The van – operated by Empire Kosher, was making evening deliveries when they were involved in the accident.
According to the van driver, he was traveling on Lincoln Place and stopped at the stop sign when he came up on the intersection and began driving through, when the sedan came speeding out of ‘no where’, and he could not stop in time.
The speed and force of the collision made the van spin around completely and crash into a light pole and caused massive damage to both vehicles.
Miraculously no one was seriously hurt.
EMS treated the victims while Hatzalah checked out the driver.
At the scene police arrested the driver of the sedan for unknown reasons.

If you are stopped at a stop sign, it is your responsibility to look for crossing vehicles before procededing through the intersection. “It came out of nowhere” is not an excuse. The van driver is at fault.

i will tell u like this i new the driver and he did look…. he was doin his job and he looked and the guy obviously got arrested so something was wrong all i got to say is when u dont see someone coming u go…and thats what he did and the car obviously was going to fast to stop….and feel better to the driver his a great delivery guy….
