REJECTED! Hateful “Demonstration” Finds No Traction In Crown Heights

by CrownHeights.info

A hateful vigil being arranged on social media by a fringe group of fanatics failed to gain traction on the streets of Crown Heights Tuesday night, after both the African American and Jewish communities said unequivocally, no.

The dozen or so demonstrators that arrived throughout the hours at Utica and President Street in Crown Heights came with a spread of political activism, some anti-Israel, others anti-Fascists. Without a unifying ideology, the demonstrations never found traction.

When a small group of black clad and masked antifa members arrived to sow chaos, it wasn’t just the Jewish community that rejected them, the local African American community took a stand as well.

Language Warning

“This is what it looks like when the blck and the jew community work together to stand against antifa who want to spark up a riot,” a witness to the “demonstration wrote on social media. “They got kicked out.”

Leading up to the planned demonstration, the NYPD had made extensive plans to ensure that the protest would remain peaceful, placing police officers at the site of the protest and staying abreast of any possible escalation.

Crown Heights Shomrim also took precautions, monitoring the protest for the community.

“Tonight, a small fringe group spreading anti-Semitic rhetoric held a vigil intended to sow division and hate,” Crown Heights Shomrim wrote. “They were firmly rejected by the local African American and Jewish residents of our community. Thanks to the vigilance of @NYPD71pct, Community Affairs, as well as Shomrim members – who were quietly on hand to help ensure calm – everything remained safe and peaceful. In the end, they left unsuccessful, not achieving their hateful goal.”
