Congressman Lee Zeldin Speaks Anti-Semitism, Need To Reform the Reforms in Crown Heights Visit

In a whirlwind visit to Crown Heights Friday morning, Jewish Congressman and Governor Candidate Lee Zeldin spoke about the surge in Anti-Semitic hate crimes and need of reform to the recent justice reforms, as well as put on Tefillin in 770.

Zeldin began his visit in front of the Jewish Children’s Museum on Eastern Parkway, where he met local businessman, activists, and residents. During the event, Zeldin spoke about the surge in anti-Semitic hate crime, specifying some of the more recent and heinous ones that have shocked the community.

He also noted the need for urgent reforms as the perpetrators of these acts remain incarcerated, and free on the streets to target others.

Other people who spoke at the event included New York City Councilmember Kalman Yegar, activist Geoffrey Davis, Dov Hikind, and Max Coen.

Yosef Hershkop, a local activist and victim of a recent violent crime spoke about his experiences and how he became the target of group of violent thigs who robbed and beat him in front of his five-year-old son. His attackers are still all free on the streets of Crown Heights.

Wrapping up his visit, Zeldin entered 770 Eastern Parkways main shul, where he put on Tefillin.
