Stand With Us – So We Can Stand With You

Meis Mitzvah: two words that sound like an ancient phenomenon that only occurred in the times of the Kohen Gadol and the Bais Hamikdash. Sadly, it still happens, and way too often.

A meis mitzvah, is a deceased individual who has no one to care for their proper Jewish burial, whether they have no family, an estranged family, no means to pay for burial, or sometimes they opted for cremation instead of burial.

The common denominator is that there’s a Jewish soul that has returned to its creator and is silently crying, pleading, and hoping to be buried amongst his Jewish brethren, a soul that is in desperate need of help, but can no longer ask for that help.

The Mitzvah of burying a Meis Mitzvah supersedes any other Mitzvah in the world and is the obligation of every member of Klal Yisroel.

Over the past thirty-five years Chesed Shel Emes has been on the frontlines bringing more than 2000 Jewish souls to kever Yisroel, with the rate rapidly increasing over the past few years.

To date, Chesed Shel Emes has purchased seven cemeteries to bury these Meisei Mitzvah, with the latest one in Woodridge, NY.

As a result of the most recent excessive increase of Meisei Mitzvah, the Woodridge cemetery is rapidly running out of space, and must immediately be expanded to accommodate future burials.

Dear brothers and sisters, the souls of our indigent brothers and sisters are counting on you. Most of them have no other relatives but us – their Jewish brethren. Open up your hearts to answer their silent plea and help us expand the cemetery to accommodate their burials.

Throughout the year many people contribute to the burial expenses of burying these Meisei Mitzvah, whether by covering the entire cost of a case which runs about $3600, or just partially, such as the matzeiva (gravestone) which costs $325.

Countless people have recounted amazing Yeshuos after contributing to the cost of Meisei Mitzvah. Most recently, many stories have emerged of singles who found their bashert after paying for the burial of a Meis Mitzvah.

Please Lend us a hand and help us give our brothers and sisters a proper Jewish Burial, and in this z’chus may you also see amazing Yeshuos.

I wish shluchim that publicly fundraise on this website and elsewhere to raise money for a mais mitzva, would be aware that “covering the ENTIRE cost runs about $3600, or just partially, such as the matzeiva (gravestone) which costs $325”.

The budget is $3600 (plus maybe transportation expenses) LESS whatever other organizations ALREADY provided!

    Wake up to these numbers!!
