As we recently reported, several weeks ago JEM held a breakfast for supporters who have assisted JEM’s efforts to record, preserve, and share the video, audio, and photographic recordings of the Rebbe’s life. The breakfast began with this emotional video about the My Encounter with the Rebbe project’s initiative to bring the actual interviewees into the schools and involve the children with the interview process.

One of the first people being interviewed, said that the Rebbe is not with us!!!

Where is he? Hiding in a closet!! We can not see him, but he is very much with us! What makes that person a chossid? they said something which contradicts the alter rebbe in tanya!!!

  • CH-er

so many feelings so many thoughts, just to put it in one word,,,,, I say WWWOOOWWWW

    a splendid graceful idea.

    the impact is astronomical.

this may be just the tip of the ice berg

it can be taken so much further

Hatzlacha JEM for your gigantic work you do,

    proud to be a donor

  • To #1

This kind-of goes without saying, but I’ll say it: If your takeaway from this video is, as you write, that “the Rebbe is not with us,” you need a serious tune-up.
This project is literally presenting the Rebbe to these children in a vivid, living, manner.
    Keep it up JEMers.
    A fan.

  • Avrahom

Number one ,grow up. You are in such deep denial that you and your group will not let things that are true be said. Then you back up your nonsense with your faulty understanding of Tanya.

  • Correction...the Rebbe is, not was

Children need direct connection with the Rebbe. They have to feel the Rebbe’s presence in their life TODAY,not something in the past. .Of course sharing one’s personal experiences, miracle stories etc are inspiring and necessary but the drift seems to be “missed opportunities” rather than the here and now. Hiskashrus to the Rebbe is basic, it is our chayos, the fuel in the car, the motivation. Children need to be taught the Rebbe is very much here for them now, gets nachos from them, is leading them. The editing that was done gave the impression that the adults are the ones in need of inspiration

  • Hiskashrus or a history lesson?

Hiskashrus needs to be presented in the here and now. Not a history lesson.Children need to be educated in the ways of connecting to the Rebbe now. As the Rebbe explained, through following the directives, through learning the Rebbe’s chassidus, through writing to the Rebbe etc etc etc. Sharing others experiences with the Rebbe is inspiring but not a replacement for emphasizing their own personal here and now connection.
