The Rebbes mother looks so regal, its beautiful to see such a thing!!
Its so interesting how there were no mosdos, its mesiba shabbos and different things the Rebbe established…
    Really awesome!

  • Rebbetzin Chanah

After reading Rebbetzin Chanah’s diaries about the hardships and suffering she endured, one can appreciate the smile on her face and the pride she exudes in this film tenfold.

She was truly a regal women and a role model for us all.

  • a real eye opener

who would ever thought there was any viable yiddischyte at that time. the 1950’s right after the war, was a time when everyone was first proud to be american(read the Brooklyn Dodgers)then jewish; assimilation, the reform movement were so pervasaive, etc especially on the west coast.

didn’t think there was much of any real Jewish awarness for the general jewish population until the late 60’s. I see now that there was a spark of holiness brewing for what was going to be a major reawakening of yiddishcyte in the decade to follow. very interesting and a real eye opener. The rebbitzen looked so friendly, approachable and of course regal and such nachas for her and joy after years of suffering and hardships. how I wish I got a chance to meet her, after all I am a “Chana” as well, but in the 1950’s wasn’t concern or even knew about such things even existed!
    thank you for sharing this.
