Crown Heights Home Burglar Caught on Video

Last week, we reported the devastating robbery of a Crown Heights home, located on President Street between Kingston and Albany, while the family was away on vacation.

The burglar went through every inch of the house and stole every item of value, including: laptops, jewelry, silverware and a collection of dollars received from the Rebbe.

The value of everything taken reaches into the tens of thousands of dollars.

We have now obtained surveillance videos that show the burglar coming down Kingston Ave. with his ‘loot’ on Shabbos morning, July 6, at about 8:30am.

If you see this man, or have any information as to his whereabouts, please call 911, or Shomrim at 718-774-3333.

We need to see a still in order to properly identify him. Because chances are, this guy is roaming around…

  • Stop and frisk?

Stop and frisk, are you kidding me?

The blacks will want to know why one earth would you stop a suspicious looking guy, other than him being black? Racist!!!

While it would be nice if we can catch this guy, the main reason for publicizing these videos (and more to come) is to make everyone aware of what suspicious activities look like.

If you see a person walking on the street, or especially walking out of an alley, and he is carrying a full load, all of which is concealed, try to engage him in conversation, and possibly inquire about what he’s carrying.

Chances are that if it’s all covered up, it could be stolen goods. We have police roaming the streets, if it’s on Shabbos let a policeman know. If it is during the week, call one of the local patrols.

I have learned my lesson from this incident, and bl”n if I ever see any activity that resembles this, especially people walking the alleys, I will do whatever I can so another Yid isn’t damaged like I was.

  • mezuzos + cams = proper keli

We must learn from these incidents

    1. Good locks
    2. Good mezuzos (checked annually)
    3. Surveillance cams (very inexpensive thes days)

Nebach. the man had to work hard for his income.

So videos don’t do squat for solving crimes or getting your stuff back.

  • I was walking down the street

Wow if I just knew… I saw him about an hour ago on Kingston ave. and Montgomery st.

  • Wow powerful

Can anyone please suggest a reputable surveillance video installer to the public.

  • "Good" Locks?

Before relying on locks, know that conventional locks that you can get at any hardware store or Home Depo are easy to pick by anyone with a little know how. A “good” lock – you need to pay over $100.00.

Do a search on something like “How to pick a lock youtube.” Then you will see for yourself how vulnerable you are with cheap locks.

If you saw him on Kingston & Montgomery, you might see him again.

From what we currently gather from surveillance videos he walked down Kingston almost until Lefferts, then walked back up Kingston and turned on Montgomery towards Albany at about 8:34am on that Shabbos.

If you see him again, PLEASE CALL Shomrim, Shmira and/or Police.

So, was it a robbery or a burglary? Is the suspect a robber or a burglar? BIG difference between the two, as a robbery is a person crime and a burglary is a property crime.
