Shimonoseki friend
Tragic…a disgrace for his childrens memories..this is wrong
Levi
A Real Avlah!
Taoos Soifer...
Notice that the Hebrew subtitles conveniently change his words. Watch closely…
wonderin?
what happened to all the rabonim that forbade him to do it?

I don’t think its for any of us to judge;
Im sure plenty thought went into this decision, and that his intentions were for the right reasons
The man has been through enough, leave him alone;
bad post
crownheights.com why post this? honestly why?
you are trying to provoke a response and increase hits. its not right, its not fair. moshie will read this one day — why upset him.
if you respected the rebbe, take this down, let it be.

Wow, Crownheights.info ..
Good luck with this one!! :)

to # 3:
They did not change his words. They prepared the subtitles off the speech that he submited in advance – he chabged the speech.
Just a thought
I am not commenting on if he did the right thing or not. It really isn’t up to us to judge. If Chabad Rabonim decide to come out with something against it, that is their responsibility. But how is it that every Joe Shmo things they need to judge him. He is still a man in deep pain. He has suffered one of the greatest tragedies. Don’t judge until you walk a mile in his shoes!
sad
The hebrew subtitl;es didn’t change his words. That was the original text that he changed without prior notice, maybe to make up for his appearing in such a place and ceremony against the Rebbe’s clear horoah about this day and celebrating of it and similar days and symbols. In any case, Lubavitch in Eretz Yisroel is “oif tish un benk” over this.
HIMMEL GISHRAY!!!
This is un-believable! The path this Mr. Rosenberg is taking r”l calls for himel gishreay!!
That holy grand-child should be taken to be raised with other family members!
HE PASSED EVERY BOUNDRY, MANY “RED LIGHTS”!
chaim ber
So whats the problem? he is a moshichist? or he is honoring his children who were killed?
Rabosayi we need a Rebbe! somebody to madrich us in galus!
to number 3
your’e right!
firstly he said harabbi moshiach they edited it to moshiach
secondly he said medinat eretz yisrael they edited it to medinat yisrael
it is really a disgrace that he took such a “honour” as a lubavitcher considering the Rebbe’s and frierdiker Rebbe’s views on the zionist secular establishment
Rabbi
kol hakoved! kiddush lubavich!!!
Rabahjack
A Kiddush Hashem! Truly powerful! The Israeli government recognizes the Miseiros Nefesh of the Shluchim its time that we recognize the Mesiras Nefesh of the soliders. Kol Hakavod!!!
disappointed in ur reactions!
why is it wrong??!
if you were a shliach and they sang hatikvah would you be the only one to sit?
there are certain situations where they are not black and white such as shluchim doing programs at baseball games or concerts…
by lighting the torch the state of israel is giving ‘recognition’ to the shluchim in israel!
leave him and his family aalone! no one should ever have to endure what they have had to…how dare you all sit and judge him!
Menashe
Two interesting points which the subtitles completely missed:
– He felt the need to refer do it “lkavod HaRabi HaMoshiach” which is funny since he’s in the midst of doing something the Rebbe vigorously opposed.
– He called it “medina eretz yisrael.” Two important subtleties the subtitles missed.
Please let-s not judge him
No one should know what he’s been through and going through. HAVE RACHMONOS and judge him Lchaf Zechus, he’s still mourning in some way after his daughter and son in law. May Hashem send him and all of us the true and ultimate nechama through Moshiach Mamash TODAY.
:-)
Good stuff.
The Rebbe would be proud.
This is not to provoke anyone. You can respond to me, but be logical, and not condescending.
This about the Rebbe’s approach to the world as it changed (and I don’t mean we should all go eat pork).
I will only respond to sophisticated comments. Just think about what he said, and what the Rebbe’s opinion on eretz yisroel was.
If you are studied enough, you can see in our Chabad documentation that the Rebbe approached Israel differently as times passed. The Rebbe dealt with the issues as they arose.
(Don’t shout that I said the Rebbe changed his mind. Read what I said.
:-)
To number 11. You have not backed your words.
I like this site, but when people let out their cries without using sensible words to explain themselves, they drag down the signification of the comments.
I do appreciate that CH.info is limiting these stupidities. Say what you’d like, uber azoy vee a mentch.
hmm
I complete agree with #16. It’s nice that they have appreciation for the shliach and he took it upon himself as an honor. Let’s worry about more important issues and just leave this one alone
don-t understand Hebrew and a BT
i don’t get what all the fuss is about? what did he say? what’s wrong? please explain thanks
Milhouse
#16, I don’t know whether a shliach in that situation should stand or sit, but he must definitely not sing, even if it will result in his being beaten up. R Sholom Wolpe, for all the criticism I have of his meshichist position, has the *zechus* of having been beaten for his public refusal to sing Hatikvah. Tzionus is kefirah, and participating in this torch ritual is no different from participating in a church parade.
appalled
If you feel so strongly against Israel then LEAVE the country.Just go and live anywhere else. He did something like this bec he had a message and not talking about his personal beliefs re:zionism. If you are that appalled-just dont support Israel and maybe you’ll be happier when the Arabs take over.Maybe then you’ll be be satisfied. No More Israel or Army. You like that? There is something very perverse in your attitude and oh I forgot, you accept all Jews. What hypocricy. These comments are disgusting.
Hashem Hu Malkenu
if you were a shliach and they sang hatikvah would you be the only one to sit?
Yes! I did it once when I was helping shluchim because they managed to escape and I did not. Now I find out in advance if a flag or hanigun hayadua will be a part of the ceremony and if it is I just don’t go or if I have to go I quietly face away from the flag and leave before the nigun hayadua. (I’m not a formal shaliach or really even involved anymore in programs but I am a known member of my very mixed community.)
SatmarChused
Please! Times HAVE changed. Today, all the Shitos are clear and no one will mistakenly fall with Yiddishkeit due to his action. (50 years ago frum people innocently fell to the medineh mistake, and we needed Tzadikkim to cry foul. But today?) Aderabeh, Rabbi Rosenberg made a Kiddush Hashem saying things many secular Yidden never heard of. He brought kosher hashkofos to the millions yidden watching this event in Eretz Yisruel.
The Rebbe zt“l (and imho even Rabeinee Yoel zt”l) would be proud! What valor!!
Leshune Habu Be’Yerishalayim!
