Pidyon Shvuyim is one of the greatest mitzvos possible. In today’s day and age, the way to fulfill this imperative is often by helping with legal fees. What better way to enter Yom Kippur than knowing you helped save the life of a fellow yid.

In addition to his many acts of tzedakah, Sholom Rubashkin had great Mesirus Nefesh to provide kosher meat at an affordable price, sometimes even at a loss. He singlehandedly fought for kashrus and Shechita on behalf of all klal yisroel. By helping with his legal defense fund, you are not just helping Sholom Rubashkin – you are helping klal yisroel.

Please continue to daven for Sholom Mordechai HaLevi ben Rivkah!

I have to back the comment “open to all” so open that the front door was never locked.

i used to be in a yeshiva in mn. i visited often, i loved going to postville, Leah never let me leave with out a box full of food (and meat).

If i had id give, what i will give is my tefilah…

i called rubashkins house right after the raid, and since… every so often, i care about whats going on and this is the response i get.

Hey how are your kids doing, hows your wife… send regards to your parents.

you would never realize that anything has ever happened o them.

i know that making that video must have really been hard, you ARE on the other side of the door and it must hurt, KEEP strong, all will prevail.

I think it’s amazing to note that rubashkins trial date was actually pushed off from the original trial date to october 13 which one day before the trial of 7 jewish residents in our shechuna on october 14 due to a vicious messira by other jews.

  • just spent 40k my self

    what a good daughter!
may Hashem bless you and your father and family and all yiden!
    gmar chasima tova!

  • Every person counts - Also Dear Madd:

Just gave $100 it was EZ. Tx. Everyone should give what they can. The amount of people giving may be used ie show a judge a list of thousands who care may help.

Also, Dear Madd, Why not reach over to the other side through intermediaries and try to resolve?

You don’t have to give five grand. Fifty bucks is also okay. From your message it seems that you got at least that amount from them. I’m sure they’d be appreciative if you paid some of it back.

The Rubashkin’s have always been a family that opened their hearts and homes to others. Their generous donations to moisdos and selfess sense of helping others will of course assist in their future, however as a community we can easily raise (double) the necessary amount and we have a responsibility to do just that. Many of us have been following the case and have been unsure of how we can help, well here is our opportunity.
It is our duty to step forward, just as the Rubashkin’s have stepped forward consistently whenever they were asked.

We should have this clip on other sites such as Vosiznaies.com and The yeshivaworld.com
Let’s daven for besuros tovos and a G’mar chasima tova.

I only had the opportunity to be in Postville, Iowa for one amazing summer in 1998 (with C.P.), and my experiences their lessen in chessed learned from the Rubashkin’s home were truly remarkable. I can attest from years spent in Ukraine that the middos of chessed and life of giving are not unique by Shalome Mordichi alone, this great life stile did not end there. It lives in each of Rabbi Rubashkin’s children with no thought of their own only looking towards their fellow Yid. How can I make life better for them? is a problem they ask themselves on a daily basis not resting or being satisfied with someone else’s matzive and being down, they make it there life and passion to improve the life of others. May Hashem bless them and there whole family so they can continue their holy work of chessed that is soo needed in the world now. They are shining example that, it is now our duty to help support them

  • Litvak.

Let it be known that this massive fundrasing campaign is being done by a man who never knew rubashkin before, a non-lubavitcher, and a misnagid to the tenth degree.

This person is non other then Rabbi Pichos Lipshutz, the Editor of the Yeted Neeman in the USA. (Residing in Olympia in Monsey)

    Aren’t Jews amazing?

    ASHRECHA!

    A Litvak.

  • amazed and inspiried

What an amazing daughter!!! So moving to see the love and loyalty…Just gives us a glimpse what amazing people Sholom Rubashkin and his wife are. This is not tzedaka, this is an obligation, end of story. We are not being kind, we are just doing the right thing that has to be done at this time. \\
May G-d repay this wonderful woman for her devotion with success in her mission and with her fathers vindication.
It is amazing that this horrible story can happen here, in the US. It is truly unbelieveable. We HAVE to pitch in, this is our brother.

Thank you to this young lady for giving us the opportunity to doing the right thing during this time. What an extraordinary young woman!! What devotion!!! May all her prayers and those of her beloved family be answered.
