Historical Photos of Chazan Teleshevsky, OBM

Chazan Rabbi Moshe Teleshevsky was born in Russia and reared in the tradition of music after his father – a Lubavitcher Rov and Chazan. At a very early age it became apparent that he had unusual musical talent; at nine he was already accompanying his father on the piano and at eleven he already began to sing at concerts.

His natural talent was enriched by an outstanding musical education. A student of Europe’s famed Professor Santina, he graduated from the Gildin School of Sacred Music, and was the outstanding student of Professor S. S. Horowitz of the Milan opera.

After twelve years as Cantor of Synagogue Agudath Sholom of Flatbush, he produced his first recording “Tefillah L’moshe.” In Lubavitch circles he is renowned for his recordings on Nichoach and his singing of Sheyibone at the Rebbe’s Farbrengens, children’s gatherings in 770 and at Lag Ba’omer Parades.
