8:00pm: How Forgiveness Heals Wounds

This week’s edition of MyLife: Chassidus Applied with Rabbi Simon Jacobson, Episode 36, will air tonight, Sunday, here on CrownHeights.info beginning at 8:00pm. This week, in a Special Aseres Yemei Teshuva and Pre-Yom Kippur Edition, Rabbi Jacobson will address the topic: How forgiveness heals wounds.

Forgiveness – between man and man and between man and G-d – is one of the central components during the ten days between Rosh Hashana and Yom Kippur. An entire section in Shulchan Aruch in the laws of Erev Yom Kippur is dedicated to forgiving and asking for forgiveness.  Why is forgiveness so important for our lives? Do we have to forgive? Do we have to ask for forgiveness? Are there unforgivable sins? Can we forgive and not forget, or forget and not forgive? What happens when someone refuses to forgive us? Or when someone who has hurt us refuses to ask for forgiveness?

In tonight’s episode Rabbi Jacobson will address the extraordinary power of forgiveness, analyzing the laws of forgiveness and their profound impact on our psyches. Discover the tremendous psychological lessons that can be learned from these laws defining the process of forgiving.

Other topics that will in tonight’s episode include: How to be more introspective in order to work on improving one’s own blemishes? What personal lesson can be gleaned from these ten days? Why is Yom Kippur the holiest day of the year? How can Yom Kippur 5775 change my life?

The stakes of not providing answers are even higher.”
