New Shluchim Appointed to Serve Stoughton, Massachusetts

Rabbi Yaakov Dovid and Rivka Gordon, along with their daughter Mussia, have been appointed as new shluchim to join Shaloh House Chabad of Stoughton and the South Area, including Brockton and Randolph.

The Gordons will be joining Rabbi Mendel and Chana Gurkow, who have built a strong foundation of Jewish life throughout the community through Shaloh House for nearly four decades.

Located in Stoughton, Massachusetts, the greater South Area is home to thousands of Jewish individuals. With approximately 3,000 Jewish individuals in Stoughton and many more throughout the greater area, the community continues to grow, creating a tremendous need for expanded Jewish programming and increased opportunities for connection, learning, and Jewish pride.

As Directors of Outreach, Rabbi Yaakov Dovid and Rivka Gordon will focus on strengthening Jewish engagement throughout the area, expanding programming for young families, Hebrew School students, and teens. Rivka will also be joining the Shaloh House Preschool team, helping provide a warm and meaningful chinuch experience for young children in the community.

The Gordons both come from homes deeply rooted in shlichus. Rabbi Yaakov Dovid grew up in Melbourne, Australia, while Rivka grew up in Solihull, England. Both experienced firsthand the dedication, warmth, and commitment required to build a Jewish community and bring Yiddishkeit to every individual.

Now, as they join the Rebbe’s army of shluchim, the Gordons look forward to continuing that mission together with their own family and bringing their experiences to the greater South Area.
