Mogilev, Belarus – In Belarus, the ‘Gan Israel’ Camp operating in the city of Mogilev has drawn to a close for the season. This fun and educational three week retreat was organized by the Jewish community of Mogilev, a member of the Association of Jewish Communities of Belarus and Chabad Lubavitch.

For many of the youngsters, this was the first time they have spent any significant time in a Jewish atmosphere. “I feel warmth here and there is always lots of interesting things for us to do, many important things to think about,” said one of the campers.

The camp, which was based out of the Ohr Avner Chabad Day School, offered an intensive program combining sessions on Jewish history and traditions with fun-filled activities, including a city tour, visit to the museum and the local theme park.
