Rabbi Chaim and Mrs Sora Jacobs Shluchim in Glasgow for 38 years have been actively teaching children attending Hebrew Schools for over 42 years. Over the years they were always concerned about the lack of suitable learning material for these children. As the computer became more accessible to the every day person they started to develop this series of books and games. There are now 96 books and 30 laminated games available and ten books are translated into Russian too.
When asking Rabbi Jacobs what the books achieved he said “In the old days children used to sit in the classroom writing notes on their lessons. By next week either they could not read their own writing or they had lost their sheets of paper. BH now we finally have professional presentable materials that the children and even the parents can respect and use.
” If teachers are sick another teacher can easily be a substitute and immediately has material ready to use. Teachers no longer have to spend hours preparing lessons or making a syllabbus, it’s all there“ said Sora Jacobs, the power behind the Lubavitch Hebrew School in Scotland.
The books are presented in a similar way to books used in secular studies. Each topic is covered in 5/6 levels for children of all ages from 5-12 years. Topics covered include each of the Chagim, History, general knowledge, food brochois and much more. The 30 laminated games come as a support for the information taught in the books. Usually the children take the books home and complete various homework tasks. This gets the children involved too.
The books and games have reached the four corners of the globe and are currently used by numrous shuchim and educators throughout the USA, Canada, Europe and Australia. Full information about the publications can be found on the internet at

Rabbi Jacobs said ”Seeing is believing! These books are a wonderful AID to teaching and we strongly urge you to consider ordering these books for your classes.”
