Full Shabbos Meals Delivered to Those Without Power

The Shluhim to Manhattan’s Lower East Side, Rabbi Yisrael and Chani Stone, distributed pre-packaged containers filled with Shabbos food for local Jewish families and seniors who still lack power. Updated 13:50.

With the assistance of a few Bochurim, the packages were delivered to residents in buildings with no working elevators, some as high as 15 stories up.

The packages contained two full Shabbos meals, one for Friday night and one for Shabbos afternoon, including: Challah, gefilta fish, chicken, kugel, vegetables, grape juice and cake.

The food was prepared and packaged by Turk Caterers in Crown Heights.

Update from the Stones:

As far as we know, everyone has electricity back, but there are still people without heat. If you know anyone who needs help (physically or spiritually) as a result of the Hurricane, or is homebound without food, please text or call to Rabbi Yisrael Stone at 646-662-5680 or Chani Stone at 917-930-4110 – we are available 24 hours a day.

We had a wonderful Shabbos, with very nice services and a hot deluxe Kiddush generously sponsored by Avi Drucker in honor of his birthday. Thank you Avi, and we wish him honor and blessings for a year of success.

We hope everyone is safe and warm,

Rabbi Yisrael and Chani Stone

The Stones themselves had no water or electricity a whole week but spent everyday delivering food to people stuck on high floors in the apartment buildings in their neighborhood.
BH power and water came on 10 minutes before Shabbos and they were able to serve all those that came up 6 flights to eat Chani Stone’s famous Cholent!!

Shluchim like them will make Moshiach come!
