Chabad at the Shore Welcomes a New Torah

This past Sunday Chabad at the Shore welcomed a New Torah Scroll to it’s Chabad House and Shul in Ventnor, NJ.

On Sunday, September 7th Chabad at the Shore welcomed a New Torah Scroll to it’s Synagogue in Ventnor, NJ.

The Torah was purchased by Michael and Cheryl Guterman of Brigantine, NJ and given on loan to the congregation.

Expert scribe, Rabbi Yisroel Cohen of Brooklyn was on hand to complete the final letters of this magnificent scroll. Participants had the opportunity to assist the scribe in writing the letters, applying feather and ink to the parchment as it has traditionally been done in Jewish history for over than 3000 years.

The new scroll was greeted with festive singing and dancing as it made its way to its new home.

Chabad at the Shore is directed by Rabbi Avrohom and Mashie Rapoport, and is under the auspices of the Chabad of Atlantic City.

  • Hats off

It’s beautiful to see the growth if Chabad on the shore. My only critique is that the chabadniks have stopped wearing their hats. Besides for the Shliach roshi, the only other hat is the litvish rav. Hats off for your good work! Perhaps it’s better though to keep the hats on as a representative if the Chabad movement.
