Jewish School Celebrates Move to Downtown Louisville
Kentucky’s only Jewish Day school celebrated its move to downtown Louisville Sunday. Mayor Greg Fischer was on hand to officially cut the ribbon to the new facility.
The school opened in 1996 — but moved this year to the Starks Building. Rabbi Avrohom Litvin says the downtown location adds a dimension to the learning.
“What’s really unique is that it’s in the heart of a downtown so therefore the kids can jump on a trolley and go to the library or the waterfront or one of the museums and combine culture in Louisville with top learning in both Hebrew and Judaic and secular settings.”
The school also operates a preschool, and serves children from 2-year-olds to 5th graders.
COL STEPHEN AND NANCY NOVEMBER
The Litvins are wonderful educators and put their whole heart into everything they do. We wish them all the best with the new location.

I find this quite amazing
I was actually born in Louisville Ky in the late 50’s
My parents were teachers in the day school there
It’s unreal how far Lubavitch has spread. It would be interesting to go visit this city where I was born.
We moved from there when I was very young so I have no memories at all but when ever I hear the name Louisville my ears perk up
Good Luck much Hatzlochah!
A real southerner
