Jacksonville Mayor Proclaims Chabad of Southside Day

Jacksonville Mayor Alvin Brown proclaimed Sunday, Dec. 4 “Chabad of Southside Day” to coincide with the Florida organization’s fifth anniversary celebration.

Brown’s proclamation followed a City Council resolution recognizing IteraUSA official Lazar Finker and his wife Raissa Finker, who were honored at the Chabad House’s Gala Dinner at the Mussallem Galleries.

“We are grateful to our mayor for this historic proclamation and we encourage all Jacksonvillians to perform at least one additional act of goodness and kindness on Chabad of Southside Day,” said Chabad-Lubavitch Rabbi Shmuli Novack, who directs the organization with his wife Chana Novack. “The performance of kind deeds creates positive ripple effects that will have a huge impact on our city.”
