New Project: Afternoon School For Tzeirei Hashluchim

Mushky, Yehudis and Yisroel Turk, of Cordoba, Argentina, studying at the Shluchim Office’s Online School.

Once there was no educational option for shluchim’s children other than home schooling. With today’s technological revolution, however, the Shluchim Office operates an online school for kids on shlichus the world over—and in time for the Kinus, the Shluchim Office is adding a new “Chassidishe afternoon school” just for young shluchim attending non-Chabad Jewish schools.

On the heels of its Online School’s tremendous success, the Shluchim Office is launching a new project: An afternoon school with curriculum specifically designed for shluchim’s children studying at their local Jewish school but not getting sufficient Chassidishe education.

The special school’s curriculum was assembled jointly with Chabad educational institutions, and includes Jewish and Chasidic subjects not covered in standard Jewish schools.

Like the rest of the Online School’s students, pupils of the new afternoon school will study in virtual classrooms which allow them to view teachers and fellow students live on their home computers.

An educational questionnaire is currently surveying international shluchim to involve them in the creation of the new school’s curriculum. The school’s official announcement will take place at the upcoming Kinus.

Webby, you gotta get hebrew into your system here. I apologize for making you go through that transliteration. It’s just that our nieces and nephews in Cordoba [featured in the above pictures] don’t read english.

‘sabrinas’ or ‘sabrinos’ means niece and nephew in Castellano.

It is very very nice to see our nieces and nephew learning so diligently, certainly this will bring tremendous Nachas to their grandparents [living in New York].

And certaily, the Rebbe is also deriving tremendous Nachas by seeing his chassidim, shluchim, learning so diligently [even in the biggest Yeshivahs its hard to find students so focused on their learning as in these pictures].

And this is also part of being on Shlichus, to show the world what it means to learn, and learn like a mentch.

and Webby, thanks for posting such a nice article and such briliant pictures.
