On Wednesday evening, a special Vov Tishrei farbrengen took place, for Nshei Chabad of Greater Miami. The Farbrengen was organized by the Shlucha Mrs. L. Frankforter, (wife of Rabbi Yisroel Frankforter) from Nshei Chabad of Miami Beach.
Rabbi Michoel Seligson from Crown Heights was the guest speaker. Rabbi Seligson gave an overview of the Rebbetzin Chana’s life with many stories and lessons derived from the Rebbetzin.
Rabbi Seligson recalled stories that he heard from his father, Dr. Seligson, the Rebbe’s personal physician. The Rebbetzin Chana had a custom to turn on all the lights, in her house, every motzoei Shabbos after havdala.
After the ptira of the Rebbetzin Chana, the Rebbe offered Dr. Seligson money for the services he rendered on the Shabbos of Vov Tishrei. Dr. Seligson refused. The Rebbe then said that also members of the Sanhedrin would get paid for their services. Dr. Seligson then mentioned the quote of the Talmud “we refuse (turn down) to a small (plain) person but not to a great person” and he accepted the money.
The women remained after the program recalling stories about the connection of their families to Rebbetzin Chana. One example mentioned was that Rebbetzin Chana would give gifts for the kitchen in their home.
The participants left that evening with an uplifted feeling combined with good resolutions to continue in the path of Rebbetzin Chana.
It was a special event that left a deep impression on all participants.
